A resume built the way a hiring committee actually reads one.

No templates. No adjective-heavy summaries. A resume built from your real scope, numbers, and decisions — structured around what a Director-level or above screening process is actually looking for.

Before / after

Same career. Different evidence.

Typical bullet

"Led a team of 40 across regional operations, managing a $10M budget and overseeing key vendor relationships."

Rewritten

"Cut regional operating costs 14% in 18 months by renegotiating three vendor contracts and restructuring a 40-person team around outcomes instead of headcount."

Illustrative example — every rewrite is built from your real numbers, not a generic template.

The problem

Most executive resumes read like job descriptions, not evidence

By the time you're being considered for a Director, VP, or C-level role, the expectation shifts. A hiring committee isn't trying to confirm you can do the job — they're trying to find the strongest evidence that you already have, in a comparable context.

Most resumes at this level still list responsibilities: 'Led a team of 40,' 'Managed a $10M budget,' 'Oversaw regional operations.' None of that is wrong, but none of it is evidence either. It describes scope without ever showing what you actually did with it, or what changed because you were the one holding it.

The result is a document that reads as competent and interchangeable — which is the opposite of what gets a senior candidate shortlisted.

Who this is for

Built for candidates already operating at a senior level

Directors and Senior Directors preparing for their next step up
Vice Presidents and Senior Vice Presidents targeting a lateral or upward move
C-level leaders (CEO, COO, CFO, CHRO, CMO, and equivalents)
Board-track executives building a case for a board seat
Executives moving between industries or functions
Executives conducting a confidential search while still employed
Why most executives struggle here

The gap between doing the work and proving it on paper

Senior executives are often the hardest people to write about, including for themselves. The scope of the role has grown so large — teams, budgets, geographies, functions — that it becomes difficult to isolate the handful of decisions and outcomes that actually demonstrate leadership, as opposed to simply describing the size of the job.

There's also a natural discomfort with sounding like you're selling yourself. Most executives are used to letting the results speak for themselves inside their organization, where context is already understood. A resume has none of that shared context — it has to build the case from a blank page, to a stranger, in under a minute of reading time.

That combination — too much scope to summarize cleanly, and a reluctance to state the case plainly — is exactly where most executive resumes fall short.

FAQs

Common questions

Do you write from a template?+

No. Every resume is built from your specific scope, numbers, and decisions — the structure is chosen to fit your career, not the other way around.

Will this pass ATS screening?+

Yes. Every resume is reviewed against common applicant tracking system parsing issues before it's delivered, alongside being written for a human reader.

Can I combine this with LinkedIn optimization?+

Yes — the Executive Resume + LinkedIn package is the most common engagement. See the Pricing page for that option.

What if I don't have exact numbers for my results?+

Most executives don't have them memorized. Part of the discovery interview is working through your actual scope together to reconstruct reasonable, defensible figures.

Success story

Repositioning a VP of Sales for a director-level search

A VP of Sales came to us with a resume that read as a list of duties rather than a leadership case — strong results, buried in generic language.

We rebuilt the resume and LinkedIn profile around the actual scope of teams and revenue owned, with language built to survive both ATS screening and a hiring committee's first pass.
